Future leader

Aphelele Miselo grew up eMbekweni Paarl in the Western Cape, even though his parents came from the Eastern Cape he is more of a Capetownian. He grew up playing soccer, but because of the poverty he was experiencing at home, he ended up voicing out his grievances through the art of poetry and fell inlove with it. In his quest of finding closure and self through writing he met a guy named Sivuyile Sijaji who inspired him in his art journey with his life story. Aphelele finds healing through words, he started performing live on stage on 2017, with his two popular poems “Akamhle sisimanga” and “You are so beautiful” on the same year, Aphelele entered for poetry slam competition but he didn’t make it. On 2018 he entered for Sinothando Franschhoek competition he won 3rd position of the competition. On the same year he entered for Light of Life Competition he didn’t make it there also, he then entered for B118 art Festival even there he didn’t make it. On the 27 of October 2018 he went to Cape Town TV and performed one of his poems entitled; “Yazini Ukuba Azange Ndasisiqalekiso kulomhlaba” for a show called #Ekse_Mamela. Aphelele Miselo entered for another art competition at Wellington he performed the same poem he did at Cape Town TV but the judges didn’t know how to judge a Xhosa speaking poet because they all didn’t know how to speak or understand isiXhosa. On the following year Aphelele Miselo well known as King Pie formed a Acapella group called #New_Generation. The love of performance and art is what makes Aphelele to never stop trying, and to keep on going. He has fallen a thousand times while trying to climb the mountain of success, and not even once did he think of giving up his love of art, because art is what gives him life, is what makes his days on this earth worth living. Commitment and perseverance is what we all must oath to follow on this young man’s footsteps.
